ANDRO-TECH

Oxymetholone Tablets U.S.P
Description:

Puretech Andro Tech contains oxymetholone, a synthetic derivative of testosterone with strong anabolic and androgenic properties. It is typically indicated as an adjunct in the treatment of certain forms of anemia (such as acquired or congenital aplastic anemia, myelofibrosis, or hypoplastic anemia due to myelotoxic drugs) where stimulation of red blood cell production is required and other therapies alone may be insufficient. Each bottle provides 100 tablets of 50 mg strength, allowing flexible dosing based on body weight and clinical response.

  • Helps increase red blood cell production by stimulating erythropoiesis through enhanced erythropoietin activity, which can support improvement in hemoglobin and hematocrit in appropriately selected anemic patients.
  • May improve clinical symptoms associated with anemia such as fatigue, weakness, and reduced exercise tolerance when used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes correction of underlying causes and close monitoring.
  • Provides an oral anabolic agent option for specific hematologic conditions where potential benefits outweigh risks and where alternative treatments are inadequate or not tolerated.
  • The dose must always be individualized and prescribed by a specialist; typical recommended total daily doses for oxymetholone in adults and children fall within 1–5 mg/kg body weight per day, with many patients responding to 1–2 mg/kg/day.
  • Tablets are usually taken orally once daily or in divided doses, with or without food, as directed by the physician; treatment duration often extends for at least 3–6 months before full response is assessed, and maintenance dosing or discontinuation is determined based on ongoing clinical and laboratory evaluation.
  • Patients must not adjust the dose, frequency, or duration on their own; liver function, lipid profile, hemoglobin/hematocrit, and other relevant parameters should be monitored regularly, and therapy should be tapered or stopped according to medical advice.
  • Oxymetholone carries significant risks, including serious hepatotoxicity such as cholestatic jaundice, peliosis hepatis, benign and malignant liver tumors, and other forms of liver injury; it is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction and must be stopped if signs of liver damage appear.
  • It is contraindicated in patients with carcinoma of the prostate or male breast cancer, in women who are or may become pregnant, in patients with nephrosis or the nephrotic phase of nephritis, and in those with hypersensitivity to oxymetholone.
  • Potential adverse effects include fluid retention and edema (which can worsen heart, kidney, or liver disease), changes in blood lipids, reduced glucose tolerance, virilization effects (such as acne, hair loss, voice deepening, menstrual disturbances, or clitoromegaly in women), testicular atrophy and fertility issues in men, gynecomastia, mood or libido changes, and increased cardiovascular risk.
  • Use with extreme caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, renal impairment, diabetes, or a history of hormone‑sensitive cancers, and avoid use for performance or physique enhancement due to the high risk of serious adverse events and potential for dependence and misuse.
